IBM advocates for collaborative advancement in business artificial intelligence

At the technology summit, International Business Machines' David Cox presented a compelling argument for open innovation in enterprise machine learning. The speaker, VP of AI models and head at the joint MIT and IBM artificial intelligence laboratory, stressed the crucial nature of collaboration in technological advancement, particularly in the current machine learning environment.
David highlighted the nuanced nature of openness in artificial intelligence, challenging the binary view of the concept. He pointed out the growing ecosystem of transparent systems from multiple providers, including industry leaders, research centers, and governments.
Nevertheless, he voiced worries about the quality of openness in various AI language systems, observing that certain models provide little more than a set of numerical values devoid of clarity in their development processes.
